Last year I went to Bilbao Fine Arts Museum to see the exhibition “New Topographic” and here I met with Becher’s photos, I fell in love with their work. I identified immediately with their style, because I often take photos of industrials areas of the cities that I visit.
Bernd and Hilla Becher, this two german artists first collaborated in 1959 and then, they married in 1961. They began working as freelance photographers, concentrating on industrial photography. Their pictures transform these buildings into objects worthy of interest. Their black-and-white images contrast the curious of Industrial complex structures with its environment. Pictures are all taken in the same manner, the building is in the centre of the frame isolated from the rest.
ANONYMOUS INDUSTRIAL STRUCTURES
