Today, after 2 days of the event, I can tell that I’m really happy with the result of this BAKIOSOUND 2013. Good music. Good people and Good energy.

Anna Ruohonen Paris

Some weeks ago, Anna Ruohonen, finnish fashion designer, presented her Autumun-Winter 2013 Fashion Collection in a very curious way. The show was set inside the Forsblom Gallery in Helsinki surrounded by Peter Frie and Johanna Ehrnrooth art exhibition covered of vivid and colourful paintings. Anna gave us a warm welcoming and Ludovic Kerfendal, the artistic director of the fashion show, explained to us how the evening experience was going to be. As an audience our mission was to be calm, drinking a french white wine and enjoy the art exhibition…When, suddenly, music started and we had to stop cause models were performing through the whole gallery showing us in a very natural, casual and kind way Anna’s designs. I liked it a lot, I felt that I was taking part in the show, interacting with them. And this creates accessible designs.

Anna Ruohonen concept is to design high quality products with a strong idea of design stand up to the time. In her opinion, when an object or design is beautiful, this is everlasting. Anna Ruohonen creates beauty for everyday life. She supports the idea of having a lovely designs forever. Her way of fashion is based in Slow Fashion “you are not looking for fashion, yes to special designs”.

Her personal mission is to provide an ecological and ethical concept. Ruohonen’s idea is to invest in quality and timeless design. The basic concept is an order-based production. This means that the products are manufactured only when ordered.

Last April, Anna has opened a small fashion house “La petite Maison de Couture”. It is located in the 14th arrondissement on Boulevard Raspali just a stone’s throw away from La Rotonde, La Coupole, and the historical places of creativity. Finnish architect Pekka Littow has designed the house specifically for the needs of Anna Ruohonen. The house will have a retail shop-showroom, design studio and production atelier.

Have a look to her SS2013 collection. …MA MAISON

vinz feel free Honest Advs.

Vinz is a street artist from Spain whose ideas are grounded in our social, political and global environment. The “Vinz Feel Free” project has many philosophical layers from questioning our beliefs in freedom to criticizing the repressive and violent police presence around the world.

In his exhibition “Market”, Vinz scream about the extreme consuming of society. Those pieces are called Honest Advs. hahahah! I like how he mixes the glory of sexuality, the delicious combination of his photos and paintings, and the semi-nudity to represent his protest of what we are living in Spain…I mean, in the world.

Last month Vinz was acting in Bilbao’s streets. He presented his exhibition “Market” in SC Gallery, underground gallery, which focuses on urban plastic artists that take place between the current trends of the art scene.

Here you can watch Paula Iglesias Rodriguez’s and Meme Millán Txakartegi’s film presentation of Vinz’s Exhibition in Bilbao. Big pleasure!

MARI HOKKANENPhoto: Mari Hokkanen, Set & Setting. Korjaamo kulttuuritehdas, Helsinki. (2012-2013)

KORJAAMO is a large culture factory (kulttuuritehdas in suomi) of Helsinki. Designed with lots of nature details, wood, Scandinavian furniture designs and minimalist style. They have amazing programme, building and spaces for being relaxed and around artistic pieces. Last monday, I went to there. I was very curious to know more about what was happening there. I met with a comfortable bar, art gallery, bookshop and concert/theatre place. Yess! and the prices of the gigs have a good price (8€, 10€, 12€). In the art gallery, there is this exhibition of these 2 artist: Mari Hokkanen ” Set & Setting” as a photographer and Ilari Hautamäki “Stargazing” as painter.

The works of photographer Mari Hokkanen often have a strong performative character and she often performs as her own model. This photos are based on stories, set in a scenery that Hokkanen has constructed herself. “…The ambiguity of images is an important element in my work. The exhibition title Set & Setting not only refers to the staged worlds, but also to the imagination of people when they view my works. I always tell my own story, offering one interpretation. As spectators, we project our own set of values to the works we encounter, and finally, our interpretations are representations of a personal mental settings”, says Mari.

The paintings of Ilari Hautamäki are abstract landscapes with some figurative elements. The starting point of the grid is the idea of virtual space, computer graphics of 1980s, and the aesthetics of old computer games. The exhibition title is Stargazing, refers to astronomy and stellar and planetary observations. And also, it means dreams and dreaming of something – the gazing at the stars.

Electroacoustic. Black Box, Helsinki Musiikkitalo

Last concert in Helsinki Musiikkitalo, Black Box, I was around electronic music, acousmatic music, loudspeakers system, one sound mixer and my imagination. The performer was in the middle of the room playing with the mixer a carefully selected combination of loudspeakers, electroacoustic music by laptop and the movement of sound. On the  other hand, the audience was looking and listening to loudspeakers very focused on emotions and flying with the imagination. It was great to speak with Tuomas about our feelings after one piece, we felt totally different and our narrative creation was amazingly different.

Electroacoustic diffusion, diffusion as performance, is an electric sound production into compositional practice. Acousmatic music is a form of electroacoustic music that is specifically composed for loudspeaker presentation and with small pieces of sonorities derived from musical instruments, voice, electronically generated sound, processed sound recordings, and field recordings.

The works performed last friday were all stereo pieces, fixed by those composers, Bernard Parmegiani, Gilles Gobeil, Manuella Blackburn, Robert Normandeau, Francis Dhomont etc. This night also, we enjoyed Johannes Ylipää sound composition and his performance. This young finnish sound engineer who is specializing in electroacoustic composition and gestural controller, presented his autobiographical work comprise all the things he loved so far: symmetric interval stacks, self-similar sound structures, just and equal temperament…All imposed onto a puristic use of only a sine wave and white noise as sources.

Here you have one piece by Bernard Parmegiani, Capture Éphémère (1967).

M.I.A

Beautiful M.I.A. She is a Tamil-British recording artist, songwriter, painter and director. And, in my opinion, one of the most trendy girls. Her delicate aggressiveness of complaining about social happenings, it is her difference.

This woman is out of fashion. She has her own personality and strength.

She collaborated with Romain Gavras, a fantastic filmmaker, in 2 music video clips. Both a piece of art and social activism. Born Free and Bad Girls.  Have a look!
